Thresholds and transitions – when they are needed

In an ideal scenario, one floor throughout the entire open space is a surface without any thresholds. A transition profile is needed when the open space is adjacent to a corridor or a bathroom with a different floor level, when two different materials are combined, or when the floor length exceeds 10-12 meters or the area exceeds 100 m² - then a central expansion joint masked by the profile may be necessary.

In any other case, a uniform floor without thresholds creates the effect of one coherent space.

Care of one floor in three zones
